Friday, February 25th, produced another shot of winters fury on campus. At approximately 4:00 a.m. a wet snow and mix combination began falling. Crews were dispatched and opened-up the main arteries of the campus to allow the occupants of the YMCA day care program. In addition, campus streets were opened to allow the propane fueling trucks access to refuel our tank farms for the upcoming weekend.
Food deliveries for the cafeteria were also provided access to the loading dock for drop-off.
As the storm continued to rage, we as many, had no choice but to close campus for the day due to in-climate weather and unsafe driving conditions. Drifting snow and heavy winds made for bad visibility.
Later in the day the sun came out, and the temperature raised so we began the plowing operations. The next day we opened campus for the start of school. The positive was the campus was opened for the Bridal Show that was scheduled for Sunday afternoon for the public.
Over the past few weeks we have had a mix of spring and winter, but this week looks good! Everyone should think spring!
