Benjamin Logan Second-Graders Visit Ohio Hi-Point

Second-graders from Benjamin Logan took a field trip last Thursday to Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s campus where they participated in several activities coordinated by the culinary, animal management, science laboratory, information technology, cosmetology and building maintenance departments.

During the visit, students frosted cupcakes, built recipe holders, looked at cells under a microscope, experienced a petting zoo and got an optional brand new ‘do or face paint. During lunch the students went to the park where the Early Childhood Education students hosted story time. The interaction between OHP students and the Benjamin Logan second-graders allowed for an in-depth “show and tell” of what various courses of study are available at OHP. In addition, the projects students completed gave a brief glimpse into a potential career choice.
